Obituary of Lindsay Zamek

Schenectady - The world lost one of its sweetest, most gentle souls on July 23, 2015, with the sudden passing of Lindsay Ann Zamek, 33, at Albany Medical Center. While outwardly modest, she was a strong woman who exuded kindness and found great joy in making the people around her happy. She maintained a positive attitude through the recent physical challenges placed before her, radiating an aura of hope and determination. Lindsay enjoyed life when in the company of family, friends and her co-workers. She was dedicated to helping others in their time of need. Her strong sense of empathy was felt by all around her. Animals of all kinds held a special place in Lindsay's heart. Lindsay was born on December 21, 1981 in Schenectady, New York. She graduated from Schenectady High School in 2000 and continued her studies at Rochester Institute of Technology. Deciding to change her career path, Lindsay was to start classes this fall at Samaritan School of Nursing. Lindsay is survived by her father, Otto; and step-mother, Bethany; sister, Erika; step-brothers, Daniel Killeen and William Killeen; and her longtime partner, Rob Harbour. Lindsay was predeceased by her mother, Linda Laurien (Zamek). She is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visiting hours have been set for Thursday evening, July 30, 2015 at the Daly Funeral Home at 242 McClellan Street in Schenectady from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Albany, NY. Lindsay's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all close friends and medical team members at Ellis Hospital who have offered their support and love throughout this difficult time. You made a huge difference in our lives and we truly appreciate you.
