Schenectady - Stephen L. Schlamowitz, 75, passed away to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Ellis Hospital. Stephen was born in Schenectady , the son of Albert Schlamowitz-Schell and Frances Ginsburg-Maynard. He was a graduate of Colonie High School. He took great pride in being a member of Schenectady County REACT C. B. channel 9 radio group for well over 30 years. He was the voice of the radio show on 81-WGY for the ESON road and traffic reports on the late Don Weeks morning show from 1985-1987. Stephen was a security guard for over 27 years working for many companies in the capital area. He was a U S Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was predeceased by his first wife Carol Harmon-Schlamowitz- Aperance and a devoted father to their two children; Stephen C. Schlamowitz and Kelly Ann Biddle, both of the area. He took great pride in his three grandchildren; Daniel Biddle, Dylan Biddle and Carena Biddle. He is also survived by one sister, Marilyn Ward. Funeral service, Wednesday afternoon 12:30, at the Daly Funeral Home, Inc., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel International Ministry, 134 Duane Ave., Schenectady, NY 12307.
