Obituary of John L. Zenner

John L. Zenner passed away peacefully at Samaritan Hospital with family by his side on April 2, 2023. John was born in Schenectady on March 25, 1950, to John J. Zenner and Mildred K. Zenner. He graduated from South Colonie High School and enlisted in the Unites States Navy, serving in the reserves for one year while working at General Electric in Schenectady. He then served two years of active duty on the USS Taconic and USS Leary as an Electrician Mate 3, before returning to General Electric as an electrician in 1970, where he worked until his retirement in 2003. Upon retirement, he worked with his brother at the former Fuccillo Ford in East Greenbush, finally retiring for good in March of 2020. In his earlier years, John enjoyed camping and hunting with friends and family. He is survived by siblings Gary Feulner (Elizabeth), June Marion (Gary), George (Karen), James (Sherri); daughter Carrie and son Eric (Elizabeth); grandsons Shawn Dame, Hunter and Tyler Decker; granddaughters Ellie, Jordan, and Jacklyn Zenner; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St., Schenectady. Visitation hours are Thursday, April 6th from 4pm – 7pm; funeral services on Friday, April 7th at 10:30am, with interment immediately following at St. Joseph's Cemetery on Albany Street.
